Iran Veterinary Organization: 10 poultry enterprises infected with bird flu

This year 10 poultry enterprises have been infected with bird flu virus, Alireza Rafiipur, Chairman of the Iran Veterinary Organization, said, SNN.ir reported.

To date, 9 million chickens have been vaccinated against this disease, Rafiipur added.

He said the case of spread of virus in the poultry farms didn’t occur in the month of Mordad (July 23 - August 22).

Only one case was reported in the month of Shahrivar (August 23 - September 22), Rafiipur noted.

He said Iran encountered intensive spread of bird flu during the past 10 years.

This indicator increased to 748 cases last year, Rafiipur noted.
