In the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21-May 21, 2019), exports of Iran's Hormozgan province doubled, compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the province's Governor General Fereydoun Hemmati said, Trend reports via IRNA.
During the reported period, Hormozgan exported 4,600 tons of goods for $1.45 million, Hemmati said.
He added that in the first two months of the current Iranian year, based on orders of local businessmen, the province's imports amounted to 243 tons in terms of weight and $202,000 in terms of value, which is 10 percent more compared to the same period of the last Iranian year.
During the reported two months' period, 6.79 million tons of goods worth $2.73 billion were exported through customs of Hormozgan, he said.
Main goods exported via Hormozgan's borders are iron, various fertilizers, bitumen and polymer, Hemmati said, adding that main export destinations were Germany, China, India, Ghana, Oman and the UAE.
Exports via Hormuzgan's borders increased by 88 percent compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year, the ministry official noted.
