Sponge iron production in Iranian province renews record

Production of sponge iron in Iran’s Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province during the third month (May 22-June 21) this Iranian year (started March 21, 2019) reached more than 67,000 tons, and this is a new record, head of the province's Industries, Mining and Trade Organization Mohammad Kazem Monzavi said, Trend reports via IRNA.
He said that during the reporting period, over 200,000 tons of sponge iron were produced in the province. He added that the main part of the produced sponge iron was sent to Esfahan’s Mobarakeh Steel Company.
Noting that 76 percent progress was achieved in the construction of the steel production unit at the Sefid-Dasht Steel Complex in the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari district, he added that the production unit will be commissioned by the end of this Iranian year (March 21, 2019 - March 20, 2020).
Sefid-Dasht Steel Complex is located in the Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari district. Presently, 1,120 manufacturing and industrial enterprises operate in this province of Iran.
