Iran continues its exports to Iraq on all borders, said the chairman of the Joint Chamber of Commerce of Iran and Iraq Yahya Al-Ishaq, Trend reports citing TASNIM news agency.
According to Al-Ishaq, trucks that export Iranian products daily enter Iraq through the customs checkpoints.
The official added that since the beginning of the current Iranian month (beginning February 20), from the Shalmacha border 749 trucks have entered Iraq, from the Chazzaba border - 321 trucks, from the Mehran border - 659 trucks, from the Sumar border - 355 trucks, and from the Khosravi border - 129 trucks.
"The main products exported to Iraq were fruits and vegetables, chemicals, metal products, household items, ceramics, building materials, food, beverages," he said.
He said that Iran exported $13 billion worth of goods to Iraq last year (March 21, 2018 - March 21, 2019). During the first 10 months of this year (March 21, 2019 - January 20, 2020) $9 billion worth of goods were exported.
Iran is one of the recent countries, affected by the rapidly-spreading coronavirus. According to recent reports from the Iranian officials, over 978 people have been infected, 54 people have already died.
The country continues to apply strict measures to contain the further spread. Reportedly, the disease was brought to Iran by a businessman from Iran's Qom city, who went on a business trip to China, despite official warnings. The man died later from the disease.
The disease in Iran has already spread to at least fifteen Iranian provinces.
Following the reports of coronavirus spread in the Islamic Republic, several countries have taken measures, including closing borders and banning flights.
The Islamic Republic only announced its first infections and deaths from the coronavirus on Feb. 19.
