TEHRAN, Iran. Jan.3
Trend:
Frequent power and gas outages in Iran, as well as focus on supplies to domestic market, resulted in decrease of Mobarakeh Steel Company in the previous and the current Iranian year (started March21,2021), the company's domestic sales manager Mohammad Tajmir Riyahi told Trend.
Export of finished steel products has declined as well, he said.
The company's focus was the export of surplus steel slab, but the gas and power outages have significantly reduced the output, and as a result, the company was not able to follow its export plan, he indicated.
Meanwhile, the summer production has declined due to frequent power outages, as well as occasional gas outages, Tajmir Riyahi said.
He pointed out that the company's priority is to supply the domestic demand and to export surplus products.
"Finished products and steel sheets are mostly exported to neighboring and European countries, while slab output is exported to East Asian countries such as China and Taiwan," he said.
