Georgian PM promises to provide regions with power
Georgia, Tbilisi, March 14 / Trend N. Kirtzkhalia /
Society still cannot control power on the spot, Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili said at a meeting with representatives of the regional media today.
"We still cannot ensure governing the country," he said. "We have already presented a regional governance strategy and legislative acts will be prepared on its basis."
The prime minister said that the essence of the strategy is to ensure governing the country by the population.
Ivanishvili said that two-tier governing bodies both regional and municipal will be created in the regions.
Moreover, the local governing councils will be created in 3500 Georgian villages.
