Georgia, Tbilisi, October 27/Trend N.Kirtzkhalia/

The election throughout Georgia is being held calmly and without major violations, the country's Minister of Internal Affairs Irakli Garibashvili said during the voting in his polling station.

"We have stated and are ready to protect the public peace and will not allow anyone to hold any excesses and spoil the election," he stressed.

However, two cars of the coordinators of the ruling coalition smashed in the morning in Zugdidi (Western Georgia). An investigation is carried out upon the fact.

The candidate from the ruling coalition "Georgian Dream", Giorgi Margvelashvili has already voted in the election. He came to the election with his daughter and said that he believes in transparency of the election in Georgia.

"This is a European election that is held in a calm atmosphere and I am confident that our nation will choose our pro-Western choice and the best perspective in this election," he said.

The opponent of Margvelashvili from the pro-presidential party "United National Movement" David Bakradze also voted. He also expressed confidence that Georgia will choose the Western path - European integration and NATO membership.

"I believe in the intelligence of our nation and I am confident that Georgia will be better tomorrow," Barkadze said.
