The amount of Georgia’s foreign direct investments (FDIs) accounted for Turkey in 2021 totaled $64.7 million, which is 5.6-percent share in the total FDIs, Trend reports via the National Statistics Office (Geostat).

However, the volume of Turkish investments in Georgia in the reporting period decreased by 18.1 percent, compared to 2020 ($79 million), and by 62.8 percent, compared to 2019 ($174.2 million).

Thus, Turkey ranked fourth among largest investors in Georgia in 2021, following after the UK ($596.6 million), the Netherlands ($125.9 million), and Czech Republic ($81.8 million).

Meanwhile, the total FDIs attracted in Georgia in 2021 amounted to $1.1 billion, which is a 2-times increase, compared to 2020 ($572 million).

In terms of the economic sectors, the main investments were attracted in the financial sector ($443.3 million), the entertainment sector ($230.5 million), and the energy sector ($157 million).
