Russian foreign minister to visit Geneva on February 11-12

( RIA Novosti) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will pay a visit to Geneva on February 11-12, a ministry spokesman said on Friday.

During his visit, Lavrov will submit for consideration to the Conference on Disarmament a draft treaty on preventing the deployment of arms in space and attacks against satellites.

The minister will also address the Palace of Nations in Geneva on Moscow's ideas of prospects for the development of cooperation in Europe, and will attend the opening of an emergency relief coordination center at the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

Lavrov is also expected to meet with his Swiss counterpart Micheline Calmy-Rey and several United Nations officials.
