A large percentage of Russias population lives below the poverty line, Putin said on Thursday, addressing the conference on the implementation of the national projects. The solution of this matter is one of the main tasks of all the power structures, and the best way of its solution is to ensure the pace of Russias economic growth, he said, reports Trend.
The president said this is of particular importance for demography. Some experts says that considerable resources the country is ready to channel for the solution of demographic problems may fail to achieve the expected effect, since such programmes have not been very effective in prosperous countries, either, Putin said.
