In April, 159 terrorists were eliminated as part of the operations against the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and other terrorist organizations, Trend reports referring to the Turkish Ministry of National Defense on April 29.
The ministry said that the fight against terrorism is a priority for Turkey.
"Turkey, as before, will actively fight against terrorism," the ministry said.
Thus, 14 PKK terrorists were eliminated in northern Iraq.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has lasted more than 25 years, claiming more than 40,000 lives. The PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by the UN and the EU.
