Some 70 companies with Azerbaijani capital have been registered in Turkey from January through March 2021, which is 31 companies more compared to the same period of 2020, the Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) told Trend.
According to TOBB, in the reporting period, the total capital of Azerbaijani companies registered in Turkey made up slightly over 13 million liras ($1.6 million), as compared to over 5.1 million liras ($630,000) in the first quarter of 2020.
Meanwhile, most of the Azerbaijani companies were registered in Istanbul (62 companies) with a total capital of over 11.8 million liras ($1.4 million).
One of the companies with Azerbaijani capital registered in the first 3 months of 2021 in Turkey was the company that is engaged in the mining sector, industrial sector - 5, construction - 3, financial - 2, real estate – 4, tourism - 6, real estate - 4, transport and logistics - 9, in the sphere of wholesale and retail trade - 23.
"The remaining companies with Azerbaijani capital operate in other sectors of the economy," TOBB said.
The total capital of 23 companies operating in the wholesale and retail trade registered during the reporting period made up over 4.8 million liras ($590,000), according to TOBB.
In 2020, Turkey had registered 148 companies with the Azerbaijani capital.
Meanwhile, most of the Azerbaijani companies were registered in Istanbul (126 companies) with a total capital of over 25.4 million liras ($3.1 million).
Some 184 companies with Azerbaijani capital were registered in Turkey in 2019, which was one company more compared to 2018.
