As many as 1,008 ships were received at the Turkish port of Izmir from January through August 2021, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Turkey told Trend.
Of the ships received at the port, 262 were flying the Turkish flag, 746 - the flags of other countries, the ministry said.
In August 2021, Turkish ports received 4,619 ships, said the ministry.
Out of the total number of ships received at the Turkish ports, 1,443 were flying the flag of Turkey, 3,176 - the flags of other countries.
"The ports of Turkey received 33,619 ships in the first 8 months of 2021, including 10,285 ships that were flying the flag of Turkey. The rest of the ships were flying the flags of other countries," the ministry added.
