Some 11,187 vehicles were delivered from the Turkish port of Samsun to the Russian port of Tuapse from January through August 2021, and 8,141 - in the opposite direction, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.
Thus, during the specified period, the number of vehicles transported between the two ports amounted to 19,328, the ministry said.
Meanwhile, Turkish ports handled a total of over 1.34 million vehicles.
Ro-Ro ships have delivered 519,300 vehicles to Turkish ports during the reporting period.
From January through August 2021, 826,253 vehicles had been sent from the ports of Turkey by Ro-Ro ships.
Turkish ports handled 156,840 vehicles in total in August of this year. In this month, Ro-Ro ships delivered 47,278 vehicles to the ports, and 109,562 vehicles were sent from the ports, added the ministry.
