"We are trying to send teachers trained at the Physical Training Institute to chess schools in the country's regions," Deputy Education Minister, Elmar Gasimov said at the event on the "State Program on development of chess in Azerbaijan in 2009-2014" on Oct. 9.

The Azerbaijani Deputy Education Minister believes the country's chess schools are lacking coaches.

"We are trying to send teachers trained at the Physical Training Institute to chess schools in the country's regions," Deputy Education Minister, Elmar Gasimov said at the event on the "State Program on development of chess in Azerbaijan in 2009-2014" on Oct. 9.

At present there are 1,096 chess teachers, around 35,000 junior chess player and 66 chess schools in Azerbaijan.
