Ambassador of Switzerland to Tehran was summoned to IRI Foreign Ministry by Managing Director of North America Friday as Interests Section in charge official of US in Tehran, IRNA reported.
The Swiss ambassador at the Islamic Republic of Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs heard Tehran's objection to interfering comments by spokesman of US Foreign Secretary on IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's recent visit of the all-Iranian Abu Moussa Island in the always Persian Gulf.
According to the IRNA Friday night news team, the Media Head Office of Iran's foreign diplomacy apparatus reported the Managing Director of North American Affairs of the Foreign Ministry a telling the Swiss ambassador that Abu Moussa Island, like all other Iranian islands in the Persian Gulf, is an inseparable pat of sacred soil of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
He further emphasized, "The Iranian president's visit of Abu Moussa is just like his numerous visits of the other provinces of this country."
He considered the comments made by that US official "Interference in internal affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, categorically condemned them, and asked for respective appropriate explanation from the US administration.
The ambassador of Switzerland to Tehran, too, after hearing Tehran's official objection on the matter announced that he would reflect the matter to the US government and announce their respective reply upon receiving it.
The mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations, too, has sent a letter to UN officials rejecting the United Arab Emirates' claims of sovereignty over the three Iranian islands of Abu Musa and the Greater and Lesser Tunbs in the Persian Gulf.
The letter, which was published by the Persian service of the Fars News Agency on Friday, has been written to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and the US Ambassador to the UN Susan Rice, whose country holds the Rotating Presidency of the UN Security Council.
The letter denied the recent claims made by ambassadors of Saudi Arabia and the UAE to the UN about the Iranian islands, saying that the islands are indivisible parts of Iran.
The Arab Group at the UN in a letter to Ban Ki-moon has condemned President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's visit to Abu Musa Island, calling for an end to the "Iranian occupation" of the three Islands.
The UAE renewed its claims over the islands as Ahmadinejad visited Abu Musa Island on April 11.
The UAE claimed that the visit "is a flagrant violation of the United Arab Emirates' sovereignty over its territory and a transgression of efforts to find a peaceful settlement to end Iranian occupation of the three UAE islands."
The UAE recalled its ambassador to Tehran for consultations on April 11 over the issue.
In addition, the Emirates news agency reported on April 16 that the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Anwar Gargash had summoned the Iranian ambassador to Abu Dhabi to protest about Ahmadinejad's visit.
The UAE foreign minister met ambassadors representing UN Security Council member states in Abu Dhabi on April 15 to convey his country's protest to Ahmadinejad's visit.
It is noteworthy the Iran's ownership of Abu Moussa dates back to long before the formation of the United Arab Emirates, although the British occupiers had for a period seized the Iranian island, and were later on before the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran returned them to their proud and ancient motherland, Iran.
