Owing to the improvement of the security situation in Libya, several international humanitarian associations have started leaving the town of Medenine, in southern Tunisia to head for Libya, the official press agency TAP reported on Monday.

Doctors Without Borders, the International Association for Migrations, the Emirati Red Crescent and the World Food Program which looked after thousands of refugees fleeing the violence in Libya, are preparing to leave the country for Libya where their assistance is needed, Xinhua reported.

The Tunisian Red Crescent is also ready to sent financial aid and medicine to the Libyan town of Zouarat, before sending volunteers, as soon as the security situation improves, TAP said.

Meanwhile, the military hospital in Choucha near the Ras El Jedir border crossing remains open, in spite of the dwindling number of patients following the end of the battle for the Libyan capital. It receives on average one patient each day, TAP said.
