In a view of economic growth, Azerbaijan today is among worlds leaders. Last year GDP grew by 26% and during first five months of 2006 by 40%, Trend reports Azeri president Ilham Aliyev, speaking at 33rd session of Foreign Ministers within Organization of Islamic Conference.
President said industrial growth in the republic is also high.
В"Azerbaijan from economic point of view is a dynamically developing country, and this surely gives us new opportunities and prospectsВ", said Aliyev. The republics positions are strengthening, despite the independence acquired 15 years ago. The countrys policy serves the interests of Azeri nation, he added.
Azerbaijan is actively participating in numerous international and regional projects and programs, president said.
