Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend I.Alizadeh/ The Umid Party will not join the blocks. Igbal Aghazadeh, the Deputy and Chairman of the Party, stated that the founded opposition political blocks have so far not achieved anything and have failed.

"The party does not intend to join any such blocks and will not discuss it." underlined Mr. Aghazadeh. According to the Chairman, the opposition should update their strategy as their old tactics are denying them from achieving success.

Touching upon the formation of the opposition's new force center and participating in the 2008 presidential elections with a unique candidate, Mr. Aghazadeh said that his party would participate in the elections with a new candidate. "If someone supports us, we will join them," said Mr. Aghazadeh.

The opposition party of Umid was founded in 2002. At present one deputy represents the party in Milli Majlis.
