Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr S. Babayeva / Azerbaijani Health Ministry has reported that the Chief Paediatrician of Azerbaijan, Nasib Guliyev, has been appointed as the Secretary-General of the Neonatologists Council of Central Eurasia Countries.
He was elected for the position during the 15th Congress of World Turkish Neonatologists and at the constituent conference of the Council held last week.
The main purpose of the congress and the organization is to achieve a 3-fold decrease in child mortality by year 2015 within the framework of the Targets of the Millennium. The decision to hold the congress of the Council once every two years was made at the end of the meeting.
