Our main goal, based on the Strategy for socio-economic development of Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022-2026, is to increase the share of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in GDP in the non-oil and gas sector to 35 percent and the share in employment to 60 percent, Chairman of the Management Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Orkhan Mammadov said this at a conference themed "Heydar Aliyev and Development of Azerbaijani Entrepreneurship", Trend reports.
"For this, it is extremely important to respond quickly to new economic realities and include new elements in our strategic agenda. Thus, taking into account the importance of digital and green business transformation issues in terms of increasing the sustainability and competitiveness of business entities, as well as their broader integration into the global value chain system, we aim to expand work and implement new initiatives in these areas in the near future," Mammadov said.
