Costs of energy project partners in Azerbaijan under contracts and purchase orders hits over $590

In January-June, costs under contracts and purchase orders within the projects operated by the British BP Company amounted to $592 million, the BP report on results of the first half-year says.

In January-June, costs under contracts and purchase orders within the projects operated by the British BP Company amounted to $592 million, the BP report on results of the first half-year says.

Last year BP's costs under contracts and purchase orders in Azerbaijan amounted to $1.03 billion compared to $982 million in 2009.

In particular, in January-June the cost of contracts for small and medium enterprises (totally 163) amounted to $112 million, state-owned companies (22) - $15 million, joint enterprises with local partners (16) - $210 million. Costs of foreign contractors in the country last year amounted to $255 million.

Some $1.33 million was spent on social projects during the first half-year. In particular, the costs within the project to develop Azerbaijan's offshore Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields amounted to $0.34 million, Shah Deniz - $0.18 million, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi- Erzurum pipelines - $0.74 million. BP has spent $0.07 million within its own social responsibility projects.
