Azerbaijan expects that gas production will amount to 29.3 billion cubic meters (bcm) in 2016, said an article by Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Natig Aliyev, published by the official press Jan. 15.
"According to forecasts, gas production of SOCAR will amount to 6.3 bcm, while 10.1 bcm is planned to be produced from Shah Deniz field, and the associated gas production from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block will amount to 12.09 bcm," said the article.
Gas production in Azerbaijan stood at 29.1 bcm in 2015.
Out of the total volume of the produced gas, 9.9 bcm was extracted at the Shah Deniz field, while 12.3 bcm of this volume accounted for the associated gas produced at the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block.
The remaining 6.9 bcm of the produced gas accounted for Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR.
