The opening of the 23rd International Exhibition and Conference "Oil and Gas of Uzbekistan - OGU 2019" and , as well as the exhibition Power Uzbekistan 2019 took place in the capital of Uzbekistan, Tashkent, on May 15, 2019, Trend reports referring to Uzbek media.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov, the Director General of Rosatom State Corporation Alexey Likhachev and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Uzbekistan Christopher Allan.

Addressing the guests, the Director General of Rosatom Alexei Likhachev outlined a range of topics to be discussed at the International Energy Conference.

“This is an extension of the involvement of Uzbek partners to localization of the construction of nuclear power plants, the application of advanced technologies of Rosatom in the creation of nuclear units, which include all the most advanced security systems, and, of course, the social and economic aspects of this project as well as the mechanisms for introducing advanced Russian technologies in the field of energy security,” Likhachev said.

The key events of the fuel and energy sector of Uzbekistan will last until May 17.

On May 16, the work of the first in Uzbekistan International Energy Conference, Power Uzbekistan 2019, will begin.

Over 300 companies from 31 countries take part in the exhibitions and conferences. Among them are Austria, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Hungary, Great Britain, Vietnam, Germany, Denmark, India, Indonesia, Italy, Spain, Kazakhstan, Canada, China, Korea, Lithuania, Monaco, Norway, United Arab Emirates, Poland, Russia , Singapore, USA, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France, Switzerland and Japan.

Italy, China and Russia will exhibit their national stands. Bavaria (Germany) and Tatarstan (Russia) will take part with collective stands. The Canadian Eurasia and Russia Business Association in Russia (CERBA) will be represented for the first time.

The Power Uzbekistan 2019 exhibition brings together representatives of almost all the main areas of the energy complex in the following sections: energy, energy saving, nuclear energy, electrical equipment, renewable and alternative energy sources, power electronics, heat and power equipment.

Domestic companies will also participate. They include National Electric Networks of Uzbekistan JSC, Thermal Power Plants JSC, Uzbekgidroenergo JSC and debutant of the exhibition, UzAtom Agency.

As part of the ongoing event, B2G and B2B meetings are scheduled between the managers of companies and divisions of the Ministry of Energy, Uzbekneftegaz JSC, UzAtom Agency and heads of foreign delegations and companies.
