Trend:

The Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC) has started oil production from 3 wells of the Danan oil field in the Ilam Province (western Iran) as of the beginning of the 12th month of the current Iranian year (February 20, 2022), Executive Director of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC), Ramin Hatami said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

According to Hatami, about 5,000 barrels of crude oil are extracted daily from the mentioned three wells.

The director added that production from the three wells was launched as part of the National Iranian Oil Company's plan to maintain and increase production from the Danan oil field. In general, the ICOFC will start production from 11 wells in the field under the plan.

“In the coming days, the ICOFC will begin production from another well in the Danan oil field. In general, by the first half of next Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2022), crude oil production will begin from all 11 wells. As a result, about 10,000 barrels will be added to the company's daily production capacity from the field,” he said.

With the improvement of all wells in the Danan oil field, the ICOFC’s production capacity from the field is expected to reach 25,000 barrels daily, Hatami noted.

The Danan oil field is in the operating zone of the West Oil and Gas Production Company (WOGPC), which is one of three subsidiaries of the Iranian Central Oil Fields Company (ICOFC). Oil extraction from the Danan oil field, which discovered in 2007, began in 2014. At present, a total of 14,000 barrels of oil are extracted from the field per day.
