ChevronTexaco, US company involved in oil production in the biggest Kazakh field Tengiz, made an order to the Azerbaijan State Railway Department (ASRD) on the delivery of 5 million tons of oil by railway to the Georgian port of Batumi in 2007, the ASRD told Trend.
In 2005 the ASRD delivered 26.2 million tons of different cargo. 73.7% of the total transportation fell on oil and oil products. The volume of transportation is expected to grow upon commencement of deliveries by ChevronTexaco.
