BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan.13

By Tamilla Mammadova – Trend:

Some 5,546 units of vehicles have been imported in Georgia during November 2020, Trend reports via the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

The number is 13 percent less as compared to October 2020.

Toyota is the top imported car brand in Georgia. The number of re-exported cars slightly increased during the reporting period.

The number of imported vehicles to Georgia was 5,546 in Nov 2020, down from 6, 249 as of October 2020. According to the statistics data of the ministry, with 1,125 units Toyota is the top imported vehicle brand in Georgia. It was followed by Ford – 770 units, Mercedes-Benz – 617 and Honda – 301, BMW – 242, and Opel – 237.

As for re-exported vehicles, the number was 3, 315 in November 2020, up from 3, 234 as of October 2020.

The list of top re-exported auto brands from Georgia, as of November 2020 was as follows: Toyota – 731, Opel – 469, Ford – 287, and Mercedes-Benz – 195.

The main export markets for Georgia were neighboring and regional countries until this year. In 2020, Armenia left the list due to the high tariffs imposed by the Eurasian Economic Union on the neighboring country.

However, Caucasus Autoimport says that it has not been a surprise for their business. According to the company, despite the pandemic, demand for used cars is not decreased, but supply is reduced, which resulted in price growth on cars at the auctions.
