BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 23. Azerbaijan plans to switch to the European standard of second-generation terrestrial digital television from the group of DVB standards, the Broadcasting and Satellite Communications Production Association of Azerbaijan told Trend.
The association noted that radio and television broadcasting in Azerbaijan is carried out on the basis of internationally accepted standards, as well as the decisions and recommendations of the International Telecommunication Union and the Regional Commonwealth for Communications.
Regular work is carried out to organize the work of technical means carrying out broadcasting in accordance with the requirements of the rules of technical operation. These include preventive measures and the replacement of technical equipment that does not meet operational requirements.
"Network optimization is currently being carried out in several directions. These include issues such as the transfer of low-power stations to automatic mode, planning the transition of digital television broadcasting to the DVB-T2 standard of the second generation, the introduction of digital radio broadcasting, as well as the organization of a single-frequency network of television and radio broadcasting," the association said.
In addition, as a result of the transition to the DVB-T2 standard, broadcasting in HD format will be carried out throughout Azerbaijan.
In general, the Broadcasting and Satellite Communications Production Association provides services for terrestrial analog radio broadcasting (FM), digital radio broadcasting (DAB+), satellite broadcasting of radio and television programs (DVB-S/S2), digital radio communications, satellite communications organization, IP TV services, HD broadcasts, design and operation of antenna feeders for FM radio and TV transmitter systems, as well as maintenance of equipment for private radio and television companies, mobile operators, and other radio users.
