Lufthansa to resume flights to Iran

TEHRAN, Iran, Nov. 23

Deputy Head of Iran Civil Aviation Organization announced that Germany's largest airline - Lufthansa - will resume flights to Tehran by mid-December, Trend reports via Fars News Agency.

Explaining the latest status of international flights of Iranian airlines as well as flights of foreign airlines to Iran, the deputy Head of Iran Aviation Organization Abolqassem Jalali said that Russian Aeroflot airline, as well as UAE`s Fly Dubi, and Turkish Airlines are operating flights to Iran.

“In addition to mentioned foreign airlines, Afghan Kam air and Qatar Airways are also flying to our country,” he added.

“More details will be discussed at the upcoming meetings,” he said, referring to Lufthansa's resuming flights to Iran.

“If Lufthansa Airlines returns to Iran, surely other foreign airlines will also follow," he said.

“Now, Iran's Mahan airline has flights to Russia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Lebanon, Malaysia, Thailand, Pakistan, China and the UAE, and Iran Air operates flights to the UAE from Lar, Lamerd and Bandar Abbas cities.”

“Mahan Airlines operates flights from Tehran to the UAE (Dubai),” he said adding that Qeshm air operates flights to Dubai from Lar, Shiraz and Qeshm cities.

Jalali further said that Iran Air operates flights to Italy including Milan and Rome. He went on to say that Aseman Air, Ata, Mahan, Airtour, Zagros, Qeshm and Meraj airlines operate flights to Turkey.

Referring to the current flight plan of Iran Air to Germany he said that Iran Air operates flights to Hamburg, Cologne and Frankfurt cities.

“Iran Air operates flights to Madrid, Spain, Qatar, UK and France.”
