BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 25. Kyrgyzstan increased its production of base metals from January through July 2022, Trend reports citing the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to statistics, the value of Kyrgyzstan's base metal production in seven months of this year amounted to 104.2 billion soms ($1.2 billion), which is an increase of 32.9 percent compared to the corresponding period of last year (78.4 billion soms, or $976.6 million).
During the reporting period, the largest amount of base metals was produced in Kyrgyzstan's Chuy region 48.2 billion soms ($600.6 million) and the Issyk-Kul region 43.5 billion soms ($542.9 million).
Overall, the value of Kyrgyzstan's industrial production from January through July 2022 amounted to more than 227 billion soms ($2.7 billion), which is an increase of 17.8 percent compared to the same period of 2021.
