BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, March 5. Kyrgyzstan imported 4,246 trucks from Lithuania in 2023, valued at $12.838 million, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, there was a 26.2-percent increase in the volume of imports compared to the same period in 2022 (3,364 trucks). The value surged by 59.4 percent, compared to $8.052 million in 2022.
Lithuania ranked as the second-largest source from which Kyrgyzstan imported trucks in 2023. South Korea was the primary country from which Kyrgyzstan bought trucks, with 5,601 trucks valued at $18.856 million.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 13,651 trucks in 2023, which is 98.8 percent higher than in 2022 (6,866 trucks). The value of the imports amounted to $138.283 million, which is a 2.4-fold rise compared to the same period in 2022 ($56.681 million).
Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover reached $15.660 billion in 2023, which is a 29.9 percent increase compared to 2022 ($12.057 billion). The country's exports totaled $3.308 billion, rising by 46.8 percent year-on-year ($2.254 billion in 2022). Imports to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $12.352 billion, which is 26 percent higher than $9.803 billion in 2022.
