BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 9. The state budget revenues in Tajikistan have executed the initial plan by 230 million somoni ($21 million) in January 2023 Trend reports via Tajik media.
The total volume of the state budget in Tajikistan amounted to over 3.2 billion somoni ($293 million) in January 2023, which exceeded the plan by 7.7 percent.
In comparison, the state budget was overfullfiled by 7.1 percent in January 2022, and amounted to 2.1 billion somoni ($192 million).
The excess of planned indicators in January 2023 occurred due to the growth of tax revenues to the budget, in particular, income tax (former income tax and income tax), value-added tax (VAT), and excise tax.
Reportedly, in the preceding years, Tajikistan’s budget revenues have systematically failed to be fulfilled in the first half of the year, due to a shortfall in tax revenues in the first months. However, Tajikistan has applied a new tax code with more forgiving rates for some taxes on January 1, 2022.
According to the ministry, the total volume of the State Budget of Tajikistan totaled 36.4 billion (more than $3.3 billion) in 2022, which is 3.8 percent exceeded the plan.
