BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 22. A new gas gathering station worth $280 million has been commissioned at the Gadyn field in Turkmenistan, Trend reports citing Turkmenportal.

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the commissioning ceremony.

The new gas gathering station, which was built by the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) over a year, covers an area of 38 hectares and will provide jobs for 200 people.

Furthermore, with the help of a complex of technological equipment and auxiliary systems installed at the station, 5.5 million cubic meters of natural gas per day will be collected and processed from the "Kishtuvan", "West Kishtuvan", "Gadyn", "Iljik" and "East Iljik" fields on the contractual territory of "Bagtyyarlyk" - deposits on the right bank of the Amu Darya river, which is a raw material source for the supply of Turkmen gas to China.

Turkmenistan ranks among the world's leading countries in terms of oil and gas reserves. Its gas reserves have increased by 126 billion cubic meters as a result of the industrial development of recently discovered gas fields.
