MP: Iran officially recognizes Libyan Transitional Council
Iran has officially recognized the new Libyan Transitional Council, said a top Iranian lawmaker on Sunday, IRNA reported.
"Iran has officially recognized the Libyan Transitional Council, while announcing its reservations, namely the withdrawal of NATO forces, holding of free elections and sovereignty of peopke," rapporteur of Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Kazem Jalali, told IRNA.
The Majlis Deputy, criticizing the continuation of NATO's military presence in Libya, added that NATO's presence is undoubtedly a pretext to further control the situation in the troubled country.
Jalali said some reliable data indicates NATO has never made any efforts to track down Gaddafi.
