Galt & Taggart shares data on Georgia's tourism revenues growth

Georgian's tourism revenues from January through September 2021 amounted to $865.8 million, which is an increase of 73.5 percent, compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports via Galt & Taggart.

Meanwhile, tourism revenues in September 2021 recovered to 50.8 percent of the reporting period of 2019, the reports said.

According to the Galt & Taggart, revival in tourist arrivals in September 2021 continued – to 39 percent of the September 2019 level.

Thus, tourism revenues showed faster recovery than tourist arrivals, the reports said.

The total number of tourists arriving in Georgia in September 2021 amounted to 226,662, which is an increase of 348.8 percent, compared to 50,449 visitors in September of 2020.

The same figure of September 2021 has decreased by 71.1 percent, compared to the same period of 2019.

Most visitors to Georgia in September 2021 traveled from Russia with 14.6 percent of the total share, followed by Turkey (14.2 percent), and Ukraine (10.1 percent).

According to the reports, most tourists traveled to Georgia by land – 58.1 percent of the total share, and by air (40.8 percent).

The total number of tourist arriving in Georgia over first 9 months of 2021 amounted to 1.2 million people, which is a decrease of 13.2 percent, compared to the same period of 2020.
