French Development Agency (AFD) continues to cooperate with Georgia in various economic sectors, the AFD representative told Trend.
According to the source, one of the new directions of cooperation for AFD and Georgia is the transport sector.
AFD is willing to develop new projects in urban transportation in Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi. In particular, one of the projects will be connected with cable cars, the source said.
Another AFD initiative in Georgia will deal with the national railway transport, namely, through technical assistance (market study, freight development strategy, etc.) and investment financings, AFD noted.
AFD has also prepared several projects in connection with Georgia’s water resources management sector, the source added.
“Overall, AFD is very active in Georgia through policy support reforms. It will pursue its cooperation with Georgia in 2022 with several projects in preparation in the irrigation, water and sanitation, human development, and transport sectors,” AFD concluded.
