Georgia sees increase in visitor inflow from Kazakhstan

The number of visitors from Kazakhstan traveling to Georgia in January 2022 totaled 4,552 people, which is almost 12 times, compared to the same period of 2021 (385 visitors), Trend reports via Georgian National Tourism Administration.

The same figure also increased by 44.2 percent, compared to January 2019 (3,175 visitors).

However, the number of visitors from Kazakhstan to Georgia slightly decreased by 0.4 percent, compared to 4,570 visitors in January 2020, the report said.

Thus, Kazakhstan ranked 8 among TOP-10 main countries of origin for people arriving in Georgia in January 2022. Meanwhile, Turkey ranked first on the list with 31,775 visitors, followed by Russia (28,381), and non-residents of Georgia (22,119).

The total number of international visitors to Georgia in January 2022 amounted to 199,393 people, which is an increase of 471.2 percent, compared to 34,909 visitors over the same month of 2021.

However, the current figure decreased by 68.5 percent, compared to 633,201 visitors in January 2020, and by 62.3 percent, compared to 528,678 people over the same month of 2019.
