Georgia slightly increases steel imports from Turkey

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 21

Trend:

Steel exports from Turkey to Georgia increased by 2.69 percent compared to the same period in 2019 from January through October 2020, amounting to $106.700 million, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend.

From January through October 2020, steel exports from Turkey to Georgia decreased by 8.25 percent compared to October 2019 and amounted to slightly over $12 million.

In the reporting period, steel exports from Turkey to world markets decreased by 13.8 percent compared to the same period last year, amounting to $10.101 billion.

Turkish steel exports account for 7.4 percent of the country's total exports in January through October this year.

In October 2020, Turkey exported steel to world markets in the amount of $1.117 billion, which is 4.4 percent less than in the same month of 2019.

Steel exports from Turkey in October 2020 accounted for 6.4 percent of the country's total exports.

Over the past 12 months (from October 2019 through October 2020), Turkey has exported steel worth $12.199 billion.
