Turkey shares data on cargo traffic with Greece for 8M2021

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Oct. 19

The ports of Turkey in 8M2021 handled 10.9 million tons of cargo from Greece, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

According to the ministry, at the same time, ships under the Turkish flag delivered 628 795 tons of cargo from Greece to the ports, and 9.9 million tons were delivered by ships under the flags of other countries.

During the reporting period, ships under the Greek flag delivered 306 346 tons of cargo to Turkish ports.

Also, Turkish ports handled 885,273 tons of transit cargo from Greece in 8M2021.

The ports of Turkey in 8M2021 handled 253 million tons of cargo.

In addition, during this period, the volume of cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey amounted to 20 million tons.

Cargo transportation through the ports of Turkey by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 233 million tons.

Moreover, during the specified period, Turkish ports handled 50.2 million tons of transit cargo.

In August 2021, the ports of Turkey as a whole handled 34 million tons of cargo.

The ministry noted that in August 2021 the volume of cargo transportation by ships under the Turkish flag amounted to 2.6 million tons, while by ships under the flags of other countries – 31.4 million tons.

Also, in August, Turkish ports handled 6.3 million tons of transit cargo.
