Turkey discloses cargo traffic via local ports from US in 9M2021

The ports of Turkey handled 18.7 million tons of cargo from the US from January through September 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

According to the ministry, at the same time, 643,294 tons of cargo from the US were delivered to ports by ships under the Turkish flag, and over 18 million tons were delivered by ships under the flags of other countries.

Also, ships under the US flag delivered 22,657 tons of cargo to Turkish ports during the reporting period.

In addition, Turkish ports handled 406,513 tons of transit cargo from the US in 9M2021.

It is noted that the ports of Turkey handled 286.3 million tons of cargo in total since beginning of 2021.

In particular, during the reporting period, cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Turkey amounted to 22.2 million tons.

Also, cargo transportation through the ports of Turkey by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 263.8 million tons.

In addition, during the specified period, Turkish ports handled over 57 million tons of transit cargo.

In September 2021, the ports of Turkey in total handled 32.8 million tons of cargo.

It is noted that cargo transportation through the ports by ships under the Turkish flag in September 2021 amounted to 2.4 million tons, while by ships under the flags of other countries – 30.5 million tons.

According to the ministry, Turkish ports handled 6.9 million tons of transit cargo in September 2021.
