Nowruz holiday celebrated in British parliament

The British Parliament celebrated Nowruz holiday under the organization of the Azerbaijani embassy in Great Britain and England-Azerbaijan Society.
The British Parliament member, Chairman of England-Azerbaijan Society Lord Fraser assessed holding of Nowruz holiday in Great Britain as a significant event.
Stressing the development of bilateral ties in recent years, the British Parliament member said that these relations are based on a good base. Similar cultural activities will contribute to strengthening of mutual understanding between our peoples, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Great Britain said.
Azerbaijani ambassador to Great Britain Fakhraddin Gurbanov congratulated the participants of the event with Nowruz holiday and spoke about the history of the holiday. He also recalled that Nowruz holiday was declared the International Holiday according to the UN General Assembly. March 21 is the day of Nowruz holiday now.
Members of the parliament, ambassadors accredited in Great Britain, officials of the Foreign Ministry, journalists and representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora in this country were invited to the festivity.
