After investigations by the Professional Football League and Judicial Committee of the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA), the committee fired FIFA referees Babek Guliyev and Anar Niyazova, AFFA told Trend on March 16.
According to Article 1 Paragraph H of the AFFA Judicial Committee Disciplinary Code, the referees were dismissed due to poor performance on the job.
Last week, Guliyev and Niyazov were mentioned in the press in regards to corruption.
