Azerbaijani Mugam concert to be held at Ukrainian National Opera

The evening of Azerbaijani music,
'concert-Mugam' will be held at the National Opera of Ukraine March.12.
The concert will be attended by prominent musicians of Azerbaijan
Mansum Ibrahimov, Elchin Hashimov and Elnur Akhmedov. Their performances will be accompanied by a symphony orchestra 'Kyiv-Classic' (artistic director and chief conductor Herman Makarenko).
"Azerbaijani Capriccio", overtures from operas of "Kerogly" and "Taras Bulba", Symphonic mugam "Rast" and in the finale the oratorio "Karabakh shikestesi" will be performed in the National Opera. Concert will be conducted by the maestro Yalcin Adigozalov, honored artist of Azerbaijan, professor of conducting chair of the Baku Music Academy.
Mugam is the main genre of the Azerbaijani musical, oral and classic tradition on a level with song and dance folklore. Azerbaijani mugam, by decision of UNESCO, was included into the list of world's masterpieces and priceless intangible heritage of humanity.
Mugam concerts have already been successfully held in
France, the UK, the USA, Hungary, Egypt and many other countries of the world. Kiev also will be able to join the high art and feel the life-giving magic energy of Mugam. It will be possible thanks to the assistance of the international NGO "Kiev International energy club Q-Club", said in a press release.
