BAKU, Türkiye, March 18. The number of passengers arriving at Türkiye's Istanbul Airport in February 2023 increased by 53 percent and reached 10.7 million people, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.

According to the ministry, in the reporting period, the passenger turnover of the air harbor on domestic flights increased by 29 percent to 2.3 million people, and on international flights - by 61 percent to 8.3 million people.

The airport's cargo turnover in February this year amounted to 391,901 tons increased by 39 percent, compared to the same period of 2022. On top of that, in the reporting month of 2023, the airport's cargo turnover on domestic flights increased by 43 percent year-on-year, and totaled 34,891 tons, while on international flights - by 39 percent year-on-year, to 357,010 tons.

According to the data, the number of flights from the airport in February 2023 increased by 41 percent, compared to the same period of 2022 and amounted to 74,449. At the same time, the number of domestic flights increased by 36 percent, to 18,602, and the international flights - by 43 percent, to 55,847.

In February 2023, passenger traffic at all airports in Türkiye amounted to 25.3 million people, while cargo turnover totaled 430,212 tons.

Meanwhile, in 2022, passenger traffic at all airports in Türkiye reached 181.9 million people, while cargo turnover amounted to more than 4 million tons.
