The expected average annual growth dynamics of regional exports from Russia’s Chuvashia to Turkmenistan is 6 percent in the medium term from 2020 through 2022, Trend reports with reference to Business Turkmenistan information portal.
This was stated during the meeting of Atadurdy Bayramov, the Consul General of Turkmenistan in Russia’s Kazan with the head of Russia’s Chuvashia Oleg Nikolayev.
The foreign trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Russia’s Chuvashia amounted to $295,600 from January through August 2020. Meanwhile, foreign trade turnover was $201,800 in the same period of 2019, and $193,100 in the reporting period of 2018.
Turkmenistan is rated as a promising market for manufacturers of electrical equipment and metal structures in Russia’s Chuvashia, the report said.
During the talks, the parties discussed the development of trade and economic cooperation, as well as cooperation in the field of education.
The trade turnover increased almost 2 times in 1H2020, compared to the same period in 2019 and amounted to $87 million.
As earlier the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia told Trend, Turkmenistan and Russia are preparing to sign a contract on a program of economic cooperation of two countries for 2020-2022.
The above-mentioned program will determine priority areas of cooperation in energy, transport, construction, and agriculture.
In general, the intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation and its high-level group on trade and investment support an important role in the development of trade and economic relations between the two countries.
About 30 agreements were signed between the countries to develop trade and economic cooperation.
Trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Turkmenistan, which is the most important component of bilateral relations, is characterized by multidimensional and progressive development.
