Gas production from Shah Deniz field significantly increased

In January 2010, Azerbaijan produced about 278 million cubic meters of gas Azerbaijani offshore gas condensate field Shah Deniz compared to 214,4 million cubic meters in January 2009, SOCAR said.

In January 2010, Azerbaijan produced about 278 million cubic meters of gas Azerbaijani offshore gas condensate field Shah Deniz compared to 214,4 million cubic meters in January 2009, SOCAR said.

About 60 cubic meters of gas extracted in January falls to SOCAR share in the Shah Deniz project, the rest part -219 million cubic meters were purchased by SOCAR.

It is expected to extract 7.6 billion cubic meters of gas from Shah Deniz field in 2010.

The contract to develop the offshore Shah Deniz field was signed June 4, 1996. Participants to the agreement are: BP (operator) - 25.5 percent, Statoil Hydro - 25.5 percent, NICO - 10 percent, Total - 10 percent, LukAgip - 10 percent, TPAO - 9 percent, SOCAR-10 percent.
