U.S. official: Country wants to strengthen constructive dialogue with Turkmenistan

The United States attach great importance to the strengthening of the constructive dialogue with Turkmenistan, U.S. State Department Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy Issues Richard Morningstar said during his meeting with Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov, the government’s press service reported.

The United States attach great importance to the strengthening of the constructive dialogue with Turkmenistan, U.S. State Department Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy Issues Richard Morningstar said during his meeting with Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdimuhammedov, the government's press service reported. 

The U.S. diplomat also noted "the growing interest of the world's largest, including American, companies to the intensification of business contacts with the Turkmen partners in the oil and gas sectors."

"The strategy of modernization and development of domestic fuel and energy, whose key focus is to diversify export routes of the Turkmen energy resources are aimed to this end," he added.

Relations with the United States "enter a qualitatively new level, based on the mutual desire to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, the profound experience and broad prospects for successful interaction," he added.

American oil and gas companies such as Chevron, ExxonMobil, SouthOil, Midland Oil & Gas, Conoco Phillips and others are in negotiations with the Turkmen government.
