The Turkish state pipeline company Botas imported 19.1 billion cubic meters of gas from various sources in January-June 2013 compared to 21.8 billion cubic meters in January-June 2012, Botas said today.
In 2012, Botas imported 43.09 billion cubic meters of gas from a variety of sources compared to more than 39.7 billion cubic meters in 2011.
Turkey also imports gas from Azerbaijan, which is supplied via the South Caucasus gas pipeline (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum).
Also in January-June, Botas exported 295 million cubic meters of gas compared to 287 million cubic meters in January-June last year.
Last year, the export performance of Botas reached 622 million cubic meters of gas compared to 726 million cubic meters in 2011.
In January-June 2013, some 19.02 billion cubic meters of gas were sold in the Turkish domestic market compared to 21.13 billion cubic meters of gas in January-June last year.
Some 41.44 billion cubic meters of gas were sold in the Turkish domestic market in 2012 compared to 39.4 billion cubic meters of gas in 2011.
