Kazakhstan’s Kazatomprom, together with Chief Executives and Presidents of 13 prominent firms and utilities, will explore how the private sector and investors can partner with the IAEA in bolstering the deployment of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, the Kazatomprom official told Trend.

In September, it was reported that CEO of Kazatomprom Mazhit Sharipov, joined Kazakhstan’s national delegation in attending the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) 65th annual General Conference, which was held in Vienna from 20 September 2021 through 24 September 2021.

The company noted that the Group of Vienna is an initiative of Director General Rafael Grossi that includes Chief Executives and Presidents of 13 prominent firms and utilities.

The Group’s objective is to establish a platform to address current global challenges through the effective and sustainable use of nuclear technologies, by fostering innovation in the nuclear sector.

Participants will work to ensure the importance of nuclear technology is widely recognised and explore how the private sector and investors can partner with the IAEA in bolstering the deployment of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.

“We will meet to discuss the latest developments in the nuclear field and their contribution to addressing key challenges, including climate change and human health. This platform gives us the opportunity to share experience on a wide range of issues: from raising the level of international security to developing the peaceful use of atomic energy,” the company said.

In addition, the company added, it allows expanding interaction between companies from different countries, experts can exchange knowledge and experience, which ultimately is a good example of international cooperation.
