LUKoil is going to place an order for a 35kt skimming barge in Azerbaijan for future development of Yuri Korchagin oilfield. It will also place the order for oil-resistant SPM and platform substructure. The platform itself is constructed in Astrakhan, Trend reports quoting Ravil Maganov, vice president, LUKoil.
Maganov said conversations are being held at the moment. The items may be installed at Keppel Fels plant located at Bibi-Eybat.
Maganov said the company is currently examining directions for oil transportation by the said barge. Among the options are Iran, Dagestan, Volgograd, as well as Baku-Supsa and BTC pipelines.
Further, this oilfield can be integrated with Vladimir Filanosov field. Such integration may involves both skimming barge and pipeline.
